Why CW Backflow
California requires every commercial backflow preventer to be tested annually by a certified tester, and the results filed with your water purveyor. Miss the window and the fines start. Miss it long enough and the water gets shut off.
Most testers hand you a carbon copy and disappear until you remember to call them next year. We built our own tracking system instead. Every valve we test is logged, mapped, and scheduled. When your next test is coming due, we already know, and we reach out to you.
Once water passes through, it can never flow back. Annual testing proves your valve still does its job, and California requires the proof on file.
What We Do
Certified backflow prevention assembly testing for every valve type and size, from half inch domestic lines to 12 inch mains. Fast on site tests with digital results, no crinkled paper forms.
Failed test? We repair backflow preventers on the spot whenever possible: check valves, relief valves, seats, and internal components. Then we retest and file your passing results.
Every county and water purveyor wants results a different way. We handle the submission for you, whichever format your jurisdiction requires, and keep a digital copy on record.
Every valve we test goes into our tracking system with its own 12 month clock. We notify you 90 days before your next test is due, so a deadline never sneaks up on you again.
Forgot until the county notice showed up? It happens. Call us for rush scheduling this week, and next year we'll remind you long before the letter arrives.

Call or send the form. Tell us how many valves and where. Rush jobs welcome.
A certified tester tests every assembly. Most valves take just minutes each, and repairs happen on the spot when possible.
Results go straight to your county and water purveyor in whatever format they require. You get a digital copy.
Your valves are in our system with their 12 month clocks running. We reach out before the deadline. You stay compliant without lifting a finger.
Built for Volume
The more valves you're responsible for, the more you gain from a tester who tracks them all for you. One building or one hundred, every valve is in the system.
Multiple buildings, dozens of valves, one point of contact. We track every assembly across your whole portfolio and batch the testing efficiently.
City buildings, parks, and facilities all need annual certification. We handle high valve counts and file directly with your purveyor.
Medical facilities carry the strictest cross connection requirements and the most valves per building. We keep every one certified and documented.
Domestic, irrigation, and fire system backflows across residential communities, tested on one visit and tracked as one account.
Large campuses with hundreds of assemblies. We're set up for escorted access, high volume days, and complete per valve documentation.
Restaurants, strip malls, offices, and standalone buildings. Even a single valve gets the same tracking, filing, and reminders.
Good to Know
For a typical single valve at a commercial property, backflow testing generally runs about $100. Properties with many valves in one location get volume pricing per assembly. Call us with your valve count and we'll quote it straight.
Yes. California requires annual testing of backflow prevention assemblies on commercial properties, with results filed with your water purveyor. Newer regulations extend requirements to new residential construction as well. Your test is due 12 months from your last one, not on a calendar date.
Water purveyors typically give a 30 day grace period after your due date. After that, fines begin. Go long enough past the deadline and the purveyor can shut off water service to the property entirely. It's far cheaper to test on time, and our reminder system makes sure you do.
The test itself takes only a few minutes per valve. For properties with many assemblies, we can test dozens in a single visit. Water to the assembly is briefly shut off during the test, and we coordinate timing so disruption to your operations is minimal.
Most failures come down to internal components: check valves, springs, seats, or relief valves. We can repair those on the spot in most cases, then retest and file your passing results the same day. If a valve body needs full replacement, we'll tell you honestly and help you get it handled.
It's a one way valve on your water line. Once water flows into your building, the preventer stops it from ever flowing back into the public supply, where it could carry contamination to your neighbors. Annual testing verifies the internal checks still hold, which is why every water purveyor in California requires it.
All of California. Our Central Valley home base means the quickest scheduling is often in the Sacramento, Elk Grove, Lodi, Stockton, Manteca, and Modesto areas, but we take on testing and multi valve projects for hospitals, municipalities, campuses, and property portfolios statewide, with the exception of LA County.
Usually not. Most commercial backflow preventers are outside the building. If we need access to interior valves, we'll coordinate with you or your site contact ahead of time. Either way, you get the results digitally and we file with the county.
The Operators
Co Owner · Certified Backflow Tester
Tony built CW Backflow's valve tracking system from the ground up, because he'd rather solve a problem once than shuffle paper forever. When he's not testing assemblies, he's on two wheels somewhere in the mountains.
Co Owner · Client Relations
Jason has spent years serving California commercial properties and knows what building owners and property managers actually need: work done right, on schedule, without chasing anyone. He's the voice on the phone and the reason it gets done.
